Please Go To MSG To Attend JT And Carol King, I will Be Vindicated
In 1971 I went with my buddy Steve to the Garden to see a 21 year old James Taylor in a concert coinciding with the release of one of the most appreciated "perfect" albums, Sweet Baby James. I think it was in 1968 that James Taylor sat in with the Beatles in the Apple recording studio as a session man. He was and is a prodigy when it comes to acoustic and similar guitar and singer songwriting. I was his age when I saw him in that concert almost 40 years ago. Everybody at NYU knew the sardonic implications of "Fire and Rain" and "Knocking Around the Zoo" but we loved JT as a magnificent singer songwriter and his personal travails at the time were of no importance to us. James Taylor created perfect albums while today we have buffoonery and cherry picking. Carol King without a doubt teamed up with her husband Gerry Goffin, sat in the Brill Building and in the days of the single records churned out hit after hit. Across from her desk sat Neil Sedaka, a virtuoso pianist who looked and dressed like a stockbroker and Neil Diamond, everyone a musical computer head. Johnny Rivers tramped up from the Bayou and began knocking on doors with sheet music in hand. Later the Wall of Sound was created in that building by Phil Spector for the Righteous Brothers, You've Lost that Love and Feeling, the listener felt he was stuck within a radio. Eric Clapton and Stevie Winwood were at MSG recently. James Taylor and Carol King are coming up soon at MSG, If you want quality music go there and not to your TV. The Who will play the Superbowl. My mission to improve the industry away from the Abbot and Costello ignominious repertoire of today is inch by inch becoming a reality. We want professional music back on our TV sets.

It's Risky Now For Dave To Ridicule Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin is getting on with her new job as Fox News political commentator. I do not think for a host of reasons Dave Letterman can continue his barrage of jokes about her. First of all it is becoming old hat and furthermore the viewers in the back of their minds and hearts cannot reconcile with him doing this after the initial horrific insult that actually caused street demontrations. Letterman's own job makes him a verifiable colleague of Sarah Palin's with Dave on the entertaining side of the surrounding fence. There is a new set of particulars now and a level playing field. Sarah Palin is what's happening now and Dave's job is related to a group of disgruntled performers arguing with their boss. In an ominous way, if the CEO of Fox calls the CEO of NBC and complains that Dave is diminishing Ms. Palin's value surrounding a serious subject, politics, I do not think Dave is going to do anything other than be nice.

Jimmy Fallon Is Waiting In The Wings
There are now existing commentary on the Internet where bloggers express their support for Jimmy Fallon who currently hosts the 12:30 NBC hour. Jimmy, the former SNL cast member and really nice person is in a back and forth dogfight with Craig Ferguson, a somewhat odd and quirky Scottish host who, I think Jimmy can surpass. Ferguson has niche like presentation and ultimately I do not think he will have enough mass appeal to at anytime move down an hour. Jimmy is going to have a problem hypothetically taking Jay's seat if some of the classic host's present weaknesses prevail. I do not believe that Jimmy Fallon has many viewers over 40. This demographic group if in fact is ratcheted up to 60 is of vital importance to the networks. This is a set that are homeowners, earn more and have a greater sum of disposable income. These are the men and woman who because of the youth oriented content of Fallon's show that includes licking windows, video games, silly skits and impersonations will either watch something else or turn the dial. Jimmy himself tries to portray the image of a 25 year old may be not realizing that young people who are serious do not stay up past midnight. What we really need on Late Night talk are more interesting and thought wrenching guests a la Dick Cavett or even Johnny would bring on to tweek our intellects. I love to look at well put together woman strut out but not if she is a knucklehead and I have to watch her talk a big zero for 15 minutes. Every one of these talk shows has one every night. I'd rather listen to Martha Stewart or business woman Cindy Crawford who of course was also a supermodel. There are also some brilliant individuals in all vocations within show business. meanwhile Jimmy shows us apps on his mobile phone.

Conan Moved To LA-I Lost $80,000 In My Retirement Plan
That is exactly correct,. I retired subsequent to working in many unrelated fields beginning with my job delivering laundry bundles for 25cents each on New York's Upper Manhattan in 1963. I was able to save a substantial amount of money by investing in stock mutual funds until I lost most of it since the bailout meltdown and the tanking economy. Since I have a house replete with two mortgages and a big family, I went back to work. Today I read that list of celebrities who support Conan O'Brien. I found their arguments to be hiliarious and somewhat delusional. Many argued that they moved Conan from his New York digs and out to LA. So What? Conan may have to shell out 20 grand to the 7 Santini Brothers when he goes back to New York for cable. The other prevalent argument is that Conan should not be moved because this would impinge on the historical meaningfulness of the Tonight Show. Working on any television show, just as when I worked as a door to door salesman for Smith Corona in 1973 mostly means you have to make your quota. I had to sell two machines per week and Conan had to make his nut or bogie whatever that is. War stories and historical meandering logic does not pay the bills.
Also, I have worked in radio and television and now the Internet and you know it is dog eat dog. A celebrity is the most competive and self serving individual when it comes to championing the careers of other performers. I will bet that all these celebrities are bringing off their arguments based on being politically correct
or infighting involving the entire convoluted sitiuation. Jay Leno himself has a long road to hoe even back at 11:30PM. When you get to our age often times people who are your junior do not inherently think that you can be successful. As I have said before, if Jay continues interviewing vapid young starlets and comedians who are not funny, he is done because he has to compensate for his own shortcomings. NBC should supply him with the fascinating guests that stimulate the audience.

Carson Daly Has a Good Show and Other Thoughts
Show business has a funny set of rules and you never know if what you are hearing is legit. Dave Letterman who is a classic host is constantly dumping on Carson Daly who caters to us night owls. I completely disagree with Mr. Put Down Artist. I enjoy watching Carson because he has motivating guests, he is a delightful host and not edgy or pretentious. He also puts on a lot of quality, adult alternative music. He really has gained my favor as I cringe at the thought of two Idol shows and the Kardashians stomping around and arguing, making millions as their busts have been declared dangerous weapons by the authorities. That is the talent of 2010, personality plus.I remember Rosemary Clooney and laughing with the inimitable Victor Borge who was outrageously brilliant as an entertainer. Now all you have to do his shake it and jive talk and you are an instant hit.
